The Myth of “Balance” on the Court

Posted by Sal on November 1, 2005

Why is there such clamor for maintaining “Balance” on the court? Specter maintains that this is a “swing vote” on the court. I don’t seem to remember Clinton preserving the balance of the court by replacing Byron White (a judicial conservative) with Ruth Bader Ginsburg (ACLU lib). The truth is no nominee in history has ever been challenged based on the idea of “Balance” on the Supreme Court.

This is NOT 1994

Posted by Sal on November 1, 2005

Do liberals really think this is a repeat of ’94? Four big differences:

  1. The Libby indictment of a charge resulting from the investigation does not hit home with average Americans like the house banking scandal did.
  2. Two Words: Bill Clinton
  3. Republicans had LEADERSHIP.
  4. Republicans had an AGENDA.

Speaking of scandals, the AP is reporting that DeLay gets a new judge. Turns out donating to MoveOn.org is NOT the best indicator of an “Independent Judiciary”.

Stop Crying Dusty Harry

Posted by Mike on November 1, 2005

They’re not allowed to steal the 2000 election. They lost the 2002 elections after carping about the march to war. They lost the 2004 elections by being for it, against it and everywhere in between. Joe Wilson is exposed as a liar. Rove is not indicted. Cheney is not indicted. Roberts is Chief Justice and Alito will be confirmed. And now Reuters reports the hissy fit. The next 3 years are going to be fun.

Chafee for Retirement

Posted by Mike on November 1, 2005

Lincoln Chafee is at it again. It is crucial that we continue to elect Republicans, especially in the Senate. What cannot be tolerated is electing people simply to get more people with Rs next to their name. It’s about ideas people. That is why Axis of Right is endorsing this guy. He’s not a Coburn conservative, but he will occasionally support our cause. Even when Laffey departs from conservatism, it is doubtful that he will insult us as he does so.

The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Posted by Mike on November 1, 2005

I have a hard time believing that the far-left moonbats are serious about this woman but we may be able to stop She-Who-Must-Not-Be Named pretty easily if they take this Village Voice article seriously.

This is a forum for three-right leaning Rhode Islanders who in their infinite wisdom, decided to relocate to other blue states. The posts on this site will be mostly political but we will also post about other things that interest us. Feel free to comment on anything you see.
