If only more Democrats were like this (and more Republicans)

Posted by Sal on November 29, 2005

Sen. Joe Lieberman recently returned from Iraq, praising the President for the plan and the successes that have taken place in Iraq. It is refreshing to see someone stand up and speak the truth on Iraq, that things are going well, that we have a plan, that the plan is working, and that we are winning. He also suggested that the President should emphasize the successes more to the American people. The President would do well to take his advice.

I also would like to see more Senators have the courage and convictions of Sen. Lieberman in this matter (both Democrats and Republicans would do well to follow his lead). I don’t agree with him on a lot, but he is right on this.

Lieberman has even more credibility becasue he is liberal. It’s one thing to have Senator Miller who also supports lower taxes and less government, but Sen. Lieberman shows that one can be liberal (pro-choice, higher taxes, an increased role of government) and still support America.

We can fight it out on other issues but in matters of war against enemies who would slaughter us if they could, we should speak with one voice.

Leeb’s type of Democrat is a dying breed. Like those who have actually “seen” what’s going on in Iraq, Leeb comes to the same conclusion– we’re winning! There serves NO political purpose for Leeb to have the position he does in his party.

So why’s he doing it? Brainwashed by Bush, or telling it like it is. We know the reason… TRY IT LIBS! in-tell-ect-u-al hon-est-y.
