NASA: Griffen’s Climate Change Sin

Posted by Ryan on May 31, 2007

Michael Griffin, NASA administrator, had the audacity to admit that global warming exists, but that the human impact is not important!  Immediately, James Hansen, NASA’s climate guru and contributor to Algore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” popped a vein.  Griffin’s point was that the Earth’s climate has been changing for 4.6 billion years and who are we to say that today’s climate is the best it can ever be.  He called that point of view arrogant.  Hansen was quite perturbed and called Griffin arrogant!  Like most global warming/climate change debates, this one turned juvenile quickly, but only on the pro-warming side.  Why does that always happen?  If theirs is a scientifically and morally superior point, why all the insecurity?  Makes one think.

On a related note, Al Gore gave a televised speech this week in which he went on and on about the importance of an open exchange of ideas. This from a man who requested television stations not to air dissenting hypotheses from climatologists disagreeing with him on global warming. Yeah, climatologists who had the nerve to disagree with Al Gore over the science of climate.

The faith-based science of global warming has created a “Pentecostal” effect in the church of the enviroligious ones. Lots of shouting and only God knows what is being said.

It’s one of the principle reasons I tokk myself and my own conservation views out of the “movement.” They aren’t moving on many things that matter, but they’re quick to point out that “deniers” like me need re-education.

When red died, it turned green. Only the environment suffers because of it.

I have felt that point for a while. Rush brought up once that the commie sympathizers turned into the environmentalist nuts. That’s funny because my student’s textbook says that a lot of anti-war protesters back in 1968 turned into the enviromental kooks of 1970, just before Kent State brought them back momentarily. Even the history channel reiterated that point. Hmm…
