Gotta Keep ‘Em Separated

Despite the Iowa caucuses, and the South Carolina primary, and the recent string of high-profile endorsements, I still believe that She Who Must Not Be Named will win the Democrat nomination. If this unfortunate event occurs, the witch will have no choice but select Barack Obama as her running mate. Mark Levin over at the Corner has already hinted at the reason why.
Democrat candidates for President routinely capture about 90 percent of the black vote, regardless of whether they win or lose. For this reason, Democrats often have trouble when black voter is lower than normal. Given the haphazard way SWMNBN and her husband have handled the race issue in this campaign, it is not difficult to foresee the same black voters who were rightly excited about the possibility of the first black President (sorry Bill) shunning the candidate who used questionable tactics against that candidate, especially if she compounds the problem by taking a pass on Obama when it comes time to fill the bottom of the ticket. On the other hand, selecting Obama would probably unify their party and energize one of its key demographics.
It would be act of colossal political stupidity for SWMNBN to select anyone other than Barack Obama as her running mate. Whether Obama would accept the nod after being the treated the way he has in the past month or so is another matter. Hopefully the former First Family’s tactics vis-a-vis Obama will keep ’em separated.

Rigth now I just think Barry’s horribly wrong on the issues. But if Barry actually succumbs to SWMNBN’s Imperius Curse and takes the Veep candidate nod, then that will tell me enough about him as a person to loathe him, given how they’ve treated him in this campaign. Power would be his prime motivation, not being principles or even “hope.”

This is a tough choice for the witch. Barry has the potential to eclipse and upstage her and that’s something SWMNBN doesn’t want…on the other hand, she could risk losing some of the black vote (e.g. “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”). To be honest, I really don’t believe that he will be Veep candidate. First, I think she wants someone who is a quiet moderate…someone who will stay in the background, let her be herself and will also try to get the “Blue Dog Democrat” vote. I really don’t think Barry would even take it if offered to him considering how the Clintons have treated him. He could be very effective at the grassroots and Senatorial level, attempting to put the screws to SWMNBN and undermine her in the same fashion McCain has done. I stand by my earlier contention that her Veep will be Evan Bayh. If not Bayh, it could even be Richardson.
I tell you this though…if Barry was the Veep and Fred was the Veep for the Republicans, that would be one sweet debate and it will be fun watching Fred school him.

I don’t claim to know who she would pick. I agree that she would prefer Bayh or Richardson, but the wisdom of her decision hinges upon what she needs in a running mate, not what she wants in a running mate. Snubbing Obama after running the type of campaign she has run would depress black voter turnout big time. The effects of that decision would play out most promently in cities like Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Detroit; cities which are conveniently located in swing states with lots of electoral votes.
She may prefer other potential running mates, but I don’t think she has much of a choice.
